Resumo
The Study, "Chemistry and Food Preservation: Possibilities of Promoting Scientific Literacy for High School Students of the State Network of the Municipality of Itaubal-AP", proposed as an objective to carry out the application of a Didactic Sequence with students of the 3rd grade of High School, promoting the construction of new meanings about the chemistry contents worked in the classroom, using Social Chemical Themes in a contextualized way to the reality of the students. Such objectives were important for carrying out bibliographical reviews and research, to raise theoretical contributions that proposed the discussion between teaching-learning methodological practices and the use of alternative teaching resources for Chemistry classes with the purpose of promoting scientific literacy from on the topic of Food Conservation. The curricular composition used in classes was based on contextualized approaches through active methodologies, such as Demonstrative-Investigative Experimentation. In this constructivist methodology, the teaching resource called: Didactic Sequence was used. The data collection instrument was the use of a questionnaire applied at the beginning and end of the research, with a qualitative analysis of the data obtained, resulting in significant percentage increases for the construction of knowledge. Therefore, with the use of the prepared Didactic Sequence, it was possible to provide students with new perspectives in understanding the discipline of Chemistry, through the visualization of it in their daily lives
