Resumo
The Amazon region is an endemic area in transmission of malaria, because have propicial habitats to prevalence of Anopheles species, but, research on the ecology, behavior, temporal and spatial distribution of mosquitoes of medical importance is still very scarce. The objective of the present study was to know about the ecology, evaluate the hourly behavior, parity and verify the distribution of Anopheles species. The study was conducted in five communities of municipality of Mazagão, in the state of Amapá, Brazil, in rural and periurban areas. The collection were trough capture of Castro and Shannon trap with light attraction. Were sampled 42 points in rainy and dry season, totaling 84-field sampling. A total of 4045 female Anopheles mosquitoes were collected, distributed in 7 species. The most representatives was Anopheles albitarsis s.l. (67%) and An. darlingi (14%), there was significate differences between abundance in rainy and dry seasons (x2 =225, 47, df=1, p<0, 0001). A strong negative correlation was found between accumulated monthly precipitation and monthly abundance of An. braziliensis and An. triannulatus. There were significant differences between parous and nulliparous specimens (x² = 1833.1, df = 1, p-value <0.0001). For An. albitarsis s.l. there were significant differences between the hourly abundances during the sampling months, featuring a plasticity in their hourly behavior
