Homeopatia no município de Macapá: perspectivas e possíveis vantagens no contexto do SUS

Abstract

This studie is intended to present the advantages of fostering, implementing and applying homeopathy, within the scope of public health, in the Municipality of Macapá\AP, based on the cataloging and discussion of articles and scientific sources. A systematic review of the related bibliography was established as a theoretical-methodological approach, considering the restriction of data on homeopathy and its application throughout northern Brazil, with emphasis on the city of Macapá. Thus, it is necessary to promote the debate on this, as established by the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices (PNPIC), which ensures its access through the Unified Health System (SUS) at different levels of health care. Thus, it is important to consider the bibliographical survey so that this subsidy can be discussed in order to establish the probable advantages and obstacles of its implementation. The methodological process used in this work considered the systematic review of the literature of an exploratory and quantitative nature, through databases such as: Scielo, PubMed and VHL. The descriptors used include: Brazilian Homeopathic Medical Association, National Policy for Integrative and Complementary Practices, homeopathy, Unified Health System, medical specialty, clinical research, World Health Organization and Ministry of Health. Since 1986, Homeopathy has been recognized as a medical specialty by the Federal Council of Medicine in Brazil. Only in 2006, through the PNPIC, was its offer consolidated in the Unified Health System, at all levels of care, with music being the main focus in primary care. It is estimated, with this project, to encourage the debate on homeopathy as an integral part of the PNPIC. The objective is to highlight its influence and effectiveness in health promotion, in order to instigate the debate about its possible implementation in the Municipality of Macapá; in addition to disseminating information about the homeopathic treatment system to health professionals, in order to provide these professionals with the minimum knowledge necessary to carry out the dissemination of knowledge about homeopathy. The lack of knowledge of this therapeutic aspect on the part of health professionals and the population, added to the scarce opportunities for action and training of professionals able to perform this medical practice, through the SUS, constitutes one of the main obstacles observed for its implementation of Homeopathy.
