Percepção dos pais de crianças com necessidades especiais em saúde frente ao processo de hospitalização: uma revisão integrativa.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: to understand the scientific content related to the experiences of parents of children with special health needs. METHOD: integrative review, with the following guiding question: what perceptions are experienced by parents of hospitalized children with special health needs? With subsequent search in the Virtual Health Library and PubMed with the following search words: Conic Diseases, Hospitalized Child and Parents. Afterwards, inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to the composition. RESULT: the 35 abstracts were subsequently read, 17 were selected for full reading and 9 were selected for the study. DISCUSSION: the following categories were listed: a) perception of chronic childhood illness; b) the role of the healthcare team as an instrument of emotional regulation; c) the impact of restrictions. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: the team's behavior makes a total difference in managing how these family members will feel and how they will deal with the stress resulting from hospitalizations. The exercise of humanizing care is essential for controlling stress.
