Resumo

The present work is proposed to investigate the teaching performance in the Foz Rio Vila Nova School, integrates the municipal public school of Santana/AP. The research aims to understanding aspects of reality that are inserted the riverside school education in Infant and Elementary Education I, aiming to bring reflections and notes regarding the teaching work adjusted to riverside education and riverside school education, socio cultural aspects that influence the access to the permanence of the students in the school and finally the possibilities of a riverside school education differentiated from reality of the territory to wich the students is inserted. The research has an exploratory character, and a qualitative approach using techniques and methodological procedures of bibliographic survey field observation, interviews and photographic records. Two types of education were observed: the first is riverine education, one that is lived through family traditions and built in relation to the local context, and second is riverine school education, which is linked to the place of the school in the community space, and both relate.
