Ser mulher e filósofa: narrativas de superação da supremacia masculina na filosofia

Abstract

This research intends to reflect on the relationship between being a woman and a philosopher, starting from the questioning of women’s place in philosophy and the historical reasons that made it impossible for these thinking women. Based on the issue of how the understanding of being a woman, present in the narratives of philosophy professors from public Higher Education institutions, contributes, in the ontological (being), epistemological (knowledge) and political (power) dimensions, to overcome male supremacy in philosophy, the general objective of this research aims to understand how reflections about being a woman, in the narratives of philosophy professors, can contribute, in the ontological, epistemological and political spheres, to overcome male supremacy in philosophy, which is configured as a heritage from an androcentric society, centered on the man, and which took women out from many spaces, including philosophy itself. Specifically, it seeks to analyze how the construction of being a woman happened, historically, through the colonial / patriarchal bias, also, longing for understanding how the processes of coloniality of power, being and knowing influenced the history of philosophy and contributed to the invisibility of women in this knowledge field. In addition, this research aims to contribute, through the professors' narratives, to the overcoming of male supremacy in philosophy, in the ontological (being), epistemological (knowing) and political (power) dimensions, and to the representativeness of being a woman and a philosopher. It is a qualitative research, which will use the narrative interview as an instrument of data collection, and philosophical hermeneutics for the analysis and treatment of the collected information.
