Resumo

This course completion work explores the relationship between traditional knowledge and information and communication technology (ICTs), highlighting the importance of the former as cultural and scientific heritage of humanity and the role of ICTs in its preservation and improvement. Traditional knowledge refers to knowledge, practices and beliefs transmitted orally or through specific rituals within a community or culture, such as ethnomedicine, ethnobotany, crafts, music and dance. Technology, on the other hand, is the set of knowledge, techniques and tools used to create, develop and apply solutions to practical problems. The research consisted of two chapters. The first was an exploratory bibliographic review, with a scientific model based on hybridism, about ethnochemistry analogous to chemistry teaching, based on the concepts of ethnomathematics and ethnophysics, in addition to subjects related to other ethnosciences such as ethnobotany and the like. Platforms such as Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Dissertations and Theses from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and Periodicals (CAPES) were used to obtain results for terms and concepts such as ethnochemistry/traditional chemistry, included in titles and keywords. The second chapter consisted of a systematic review of traditional knowledge on the proposed topic, using scientific databases such as SciELO and CAPES, as well as Google Scholar electronic pages. Articles were selected based on the search for abstracts, titles and/or keywords that contained terms such as "PCTs", "ethnoscience", "ethno-knowledge", "ethnochemistry" and "traditional knowledge", associated with the teaching of chemistry or chemical knowledge traditional. The objective was to gather relevant information to understand the relationship between traditional knowledge, chemistry teaching and the way in which ICTs could significantly and actively contribute to this research. The results indicate that technology can be an important ally in the preservation of traditional knowledge, making it more accessible to other people and contributing to the improvement of traditional techniques. It is important to emphasize, however, the need to use technology responsibly and ethically, respecting the rights and intellectual autonomy of the communities involved. The research highlights the importance of exploring the connection between traditional knowledge and ICTs, in a joint effort to preserve and value humanity's cultural and scientific diversity
