Mães solteiras chefes de família: um estudo sociológico na cidade de Macapá

Abstract

The present study has objetic to analyze the reasons that led to the single mothers head of his household, showing that there are now a growing number of women who are heads of family in expense of being the unique progenitor their families. It is necessary to address the changes in the role of women, in the family. The study has a qualitative approach, using the interview as a tool to get the story of ten women who are single mother‘s householders. Thus it was found that the main reasons for this new family is the abandonment by his companions and so assume the leadership of the home.
