Resumo
Tuberculosis is commonly caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and analyzes related to the epidemiological profile of patients may help in understanding the reemergence of the frame in the current context, especially in regions with scarce sources of scientific work as the northern region of Brazil. This study aimed to characterize the epidemiological profile of hospitalized patients with tuberculosis, through variables such as age, gender, ethnicity (race / color self-reported), and determine and analyze quantitative data of cases registered in the State of Amapá municipalities, between the years 2010 and 2015. This was a descriptive, cross-sectional retrospective study, with data collected from Diseases Information System (SINAN), provided in the DATASUS website, in the period January 2010 to December 2015. the project was Brazil submitted to the Platform for consideration and obtain exemption by the Ethics Committee. In the proposed period were recorded a total of 153 hospitalizations for tuberculosis, and the amount of cases has fluctuated over the years. The obtained data corroborate those found in similar studies, which indicated the male as the most quantitative of affected individuals and the most affected age group between 20 and 49 years. Macapá was the city with the highest number of cases during the study period, with the black and mulatto ethnic groups most affected and the pulmonary form as the most prevalent. Even tuberculosis be an aggravation of significant morbidity that requires attention in its approach and therapy in Brazil, there was possible significant underreporting, when it comes to quantity of cases reported in relation to the expected number, and the Amapá capital presented quantitative cases reduced despite being the main site of notification. Soon, the State of Amapá presented epidemiological profile similar to the national, but must consider the constant reevaluation of this profile, so that the database will become more reliable allowing to adopt public health measures to meet the demands according to local particularities
