Resumo

This research aims to discuss the importance of Financial Education within a public school in the municipality of Santana-AP with students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA). The education of young people and adults in accordance with the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education – LDB, Law 9.394/96, is a modality of basic education aimed at young people and adults who did not complete their studies in Elementary and High School during the regular period. The main objective of this research is to carry out a study on the approach to the subjects of Financial Mathematics and Financial Education in EJA. The importance of Mathematics in EJA is based on the assumption that learning it is a basic right for all and na individual and social need for men and women, and that calculating, measuring, reasoning, arguing, statistically treating information, among others, are skills necessary for the exercise of citizenship. The research methodology is a qualitative approach as it analyzes and interprets deeper aspects, describing the complexity of human behavior and even providing more detailed analyzes of investigations, attitudes and behavioral trends. The acceptance rates for the work were quite satisfactory, considering that more than 95% of the students found matters of financial mathematics important for their lives and society. The construction of this work allowed the professor spectacular experiences and a thorough study of the subjects taught in the relentless search for more knowledge
