Resumo

The present article reports some results of research on the relationship between education and neoliberalism who aimed to put into context the discussion about the teaching of philosophy in Brazilian high school, considered under the neoliberal point of view and its attempts of direct intervention on social life. This research draws up mostly through bibliographic research on books and papers found on web, as well as its documental side involving reading, selection and remarks on specific literatures, for example LDB 9.394/96, Provisional measures, Bills, references as Perry Anderson (1995), Frigotto (2006, 2010), Gentili (2010), Gramsci (1988), Bourdieu (2006) and including personal notes about the measures defended by the so call Novo Ensino Médio submitted in the last year by the president Michel Temer it was possible to analyze the role of the teaching of philosophy in the educational system of Brazil strongly framed in the heels of neoliberalism. We conclude by verifying that neoliberalism sees education as mere commodity and therefore this consideration drives to a reasoning for the continuation of the capitalist mode of production developing an ideological subjection, withdrawing or offering critical disciplines as philosophy in a harmless way and defending this behavior through a structuralist constructivism perspective.
