Resumo
Introduction: The Ilizarov method, a rigid circular external fixator, is the most commonly used technique to assist in bone healing of tibial fractures and in bone lengthening procedures. Electrophysical agents play a crucial role in rehabilitation, offering significant benefits in accelerating the recovery process and reducing treatment time. Objective: To map the scientific evidence available in the literature regarding the effectiveness and safety of electrophysical agents in the process of bone consolidation during tibial lengthening using the Ilizarov method. Methods: A scoping review will be conducted based on the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. The review protocol has been registered on the Open Science Framework – OSF plataform (DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/DNF57). The research question was developed using the PCC strategy (Population, Concept, and Context). Randomized clinical trials involving adults (≥18 years) undergoing tibial lengthening using the Ilizarov method, with electrophysical agents as the intervention, will be included. Searches will be conducted in the following databases: PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, PEDro, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus, with no language or publication date restrictions. Study selection, data extraction, and methodological assessment will be performed independently by two reviewers using the Rayyan platform. Expected Results: To provide robust information on how rehabilitation through electrophysical agents can influence bone lengthening using the Ilizarov method.
