Resumo

In the first phase of the pandemic, with social isolation, people had to readapt to a new reality by looking for leisure alternatives within their home environment. Thus, social obligations, such as educational work carried out by teachers and leisure activities, began to be carried out in the same environment. Thus, in a dispute over time and space, the home has come to be seen as an environment with multiple social dimensions. As a result, this research is based on the following problem: how has leisure been practiced by female teachers at a public school in Macapá during and after the COVID-19 pandemic? The general objective is to understand the leisure activities that have been carried out by female teachers at a public school in Macapá during and after the pandemic cycle. The methodology of this research is qualitative and quantitative, and descriptive. The research site was the Mário Quirino da Silva State School, with 37 female teachers taking part. Data was collected in two phases: the first involved a questionnaire with open and closed questions, and the second was a semi-structured interview with a group of seven teachers, who were chosen through accessibility or convenience sampling. The data was analyzed using content analysis. It is worth noting that for the objective questions in the questionnaire, a descriptive statistical analysis was carried out using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - SPSS 20. The main results include: the pandemic has had a significant impact on the leisure activities of female teachers, especially those linked to tourist, physical-sports, artistic and social leisure, but there has been an increase in the experience of intellectual leisure; female teachers spent a large part of their time dedicated to compulsory activities, which caused an overload and limited their leisure time; among the strategies used by female teachers to experience leisure activities are the organization of teaching work and domestic tasks; they stated that the pandemic has made them give more importance to leisure activities today. Thus, we conclude that the results of this research open our eyes to discussing the vulnerabilities caused by veiled patriarchal and segregating discourses that naturalize women's overload and directly impact their lives and their time for leisure activities and alert us that even with all the feminist achievements within society, gender inequalities persist over time, hence the importance of giving visibility to this issue before society.
