Análise do perfil epidemiológico de leishmaniose tegumentar americana no Amapá de 2010 a 2025

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of American tegumentary leishmaniasis in the state of Amapá from 2010 to 2025. Methods: A descriptive-analytical, cross-sectional epidemiological study using secondary data obtained from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Data processing was performed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics, employing statistical tests to assess associations between sociodemographic and clinical variables, as well as time-trend analysis. Results: The cutaneous form predominated among reported cases. A cure rate was observed, although treatment abandonment was also significant. A statistically significant association was found between clinical outcome and the occupation of affected individuals. Time-series analysis revealed fluctuating disease patterns throughout the study period, with no statistically significant trend toward a reduction in cases or incidence rates. Final considerations: State measures regarding surveillance, prevention, and healthcare strategies require re-evaluation, particularly through expanding access to laboratory diagnosis, strengthening treatment adherence, and developing initiatives targeted at the most vulnerable population groups.
