The Alternation Pedagogy: An analysis of the methodology at the Agro-Extractivist Family School of Coal - EFAC in the education of farmers' children from the realization that based on the education of the field students are led to understand and reflect their realities with the family. Sharing the alternates in peasant education is an essential support for learning. In Alternância it is essential the participation of parents, teachers and community in the articulation of practice and theory resulting in a praxis, where the student spends a certain time studying and then back to his community, to family life, performing educational practices. The objective of this paper is to analyze the methodology used by EFAC and its functionality for the education of farmers' children, based on the Alternation Pedagogy. As specific objectives we sought to describe the emergence and historical development of Pedagogy of Alternation and its relationship with Rural Education; understand the perception of the school community about the methodological practice of EFAC from the Pedagogy of Alternation. The methodology of the study combined bibliographic research and field research with the questionnaire instrument with teachers, students and parents and / or guardians. The study allowed us to infer that the education of the field based on the pedagogy of alternation, as it is organized in EFAC, allows to expand the opportunities and improvement in the students learning, as a result of the combination of instruments and activities performed during the school time periods. and community time spent in the institution
