O internacionalismo dos movimentos sociais e indígenas da Amazônia

Abstract

This article focuses on the internationalism of the social and indigenous movements from Amazon, from the international campaigns until the diplomacy of people at the Pan-Amazonian Social Forum. The social movements, although always shared the principle of the international solidarity, come to act, since the globalization, more incisively in the international system. Therefore, this article proposes that the social movements from the Amazon, through the diplomacy of people, seek to build social force in order to echo their demands at the international field and, thus, to materialize them at the domestic field. And by doing that, enticing the process of the Pan-Amazonian integration. This article has exploratory nature and the methodology applied was qualitative. First, it aims to contextualize the object, developing the most important theories in the process. Secondly, it aims to analyze FOSPA through the exercise of the diplomacy of the people. The results from the study indicate that the exercise of the diplomacy of people at FOSPA is an instrument of bargain of the social and indigenous movements at the international field, even though, domestically, the internationally recognized rights are not properly respected yet
