Estudo da utilização de estacas de madeira para fundações de pontes rodoviárias no estado do Amapá

Abstract

The study investigated the possibilities of using wooden piles in the foundations of road bridges in the State of Amapá. Its objectives were to understand the advantages of these piles and study the possibility of building wooden bridges in the region. The research, of a basic nature and qualitative approach, based on interviews with civil engineering and an integrative literature review. The procedures involved semi-structured interviews, careful review of studies and synthesis of data found. The parties highlighted the importance of balancing the benefits and challenges of wooden piles, highlighting the need for technological advances, better preservative treatments and careful evaluation of the forecast for wooden bridges in the State of Amapá. The interviews provided insight into the engineers' professional experiences and opinions, enriching the understanding of the pros and cons of wooden piles in bridge foundations in the region. Practical recommendations, such as reforestation and sustainable management of wood suitable for cuttings, were highlighted as crucial for the successful implementation of these practices in the Amapá region. The main results emphasize the importance of a judicious approach in the design and execution of wooden bridges, including the appropriate choice and use of wooden piles, cannot be underestimated. Structural problems, such as pile perforations, foundation settlements and timber interruptions, are common occurrences that can compromise the stability and safety of bridges.
