Resumo
The promotion of mental health in the university has been the focus on the debate in several higher education institutions. Several factors can affect the performance of an undergraduate students and one of them is related to the issue of academic and non-academic problems that can affect their mental health. This study verified the perception of pharmacy students at a public university about mental health. It was carried out a descriptive, cross-sectional, quali-quantitative study. A questionnaire was applied by google forms to students of the pharmacy undergraduate at the public university in Amapá. This research instrument had questions about the student’s perception of the factors that affect their mental health, as well as the evaluation of student support services in this area. It could participate pharmacy students regularly enrolled in undergraduate. The results showed that the majority of the participants consider their mental health as regular or terrible. More than one academic factor is related to the problems of the students' mental health, such as excessive activities, heavy workload and difficulty in relationships with professors. The non-academics factors asfinancial and family problems were the most relataed with mental health problems. Most of the participants reported that they went through the situation alone. Pharmacy students at a public university have the perception that their mental health is not good and that it is necessary to improve policiesa bout mental healtht at the institution and the pharmacy school.
