Resumo

Poultry farming in Brazil is relevant within the agribusiness production chain, chicken meat has increased its participation in the menu of Brazilian families. The importance of non-conventional feeding plants (PANCs) for poultry feeding as an alternative feed was observed. The objective of the study was to survey the main PANCs, used to feed chickens and free-range chickens. To this end, interviews were conducted with 31 farmers of both sexes, aged from 18 years of age, from different educational levels of rural communities: Curiaú and Casa Grande Community, Macapá-AP and Entre-Rios Community PA CEDRO, Tartarugalzinho -AP. The interviews were conducted orally and in a dialogical manner, which took place on April 7, 14 and 21, 2019. Fourteen species of PANCs, Alfavaca Ocimum basilliccum L., Beldroega Portulaca oleracea L., Caruru Amaranthus viridis L., Chicory Eryngium foetidum L., Jambú Acmella oleracea. (L) R.K. Jansen, Maria-mole Senecio brasiliensis. (Spreng.) Less, Mastruz Dysphania ambrosioides. (L.) Mosyakin & Clemants, Taioba Xanthosoma sagittifolium. (L.) Schott, Nettle Urtica dioica L, Sweet potato Ipomoea potatoes. (L.) Lam., Ginger Zingiber officinale ROSCOE, Major-Gomes Talinum paniculatum. (Jack) Gaertn, Chives Allium schoenoprasum L., Pimenteira Capsicum frutescens L. The best known species, crops, abundant and used as medicines in the communities surveyed were Alfavaca, Beldroega, Caruru, Chicory, Jambú, Maria-mole and Mastruz. Knowledge about PANCs was acquired daily by observation, as well as through cultural means, being passed from the most experienced to the youngest from generation to generation about which species could be used as a spice alternative, medicine, among others. others. 100% of participants are unaware of the nutritional components of PANCs, yet know that they are good for animals. PANCs are used in communities as an alternative for feeding chicken and free-range chickens, as well as being used for various purposes by respondents. However, more information about plants can contribute to everyday use for a variety of functions, especially as a feed alternative, lowering the cost of animal production
