Alvos políticos na música de M.I.A.: explorando as questões migratórias e de refugiados no álbum aim (2016) através da teoria das relações internacionais

Abstract

This study aims to interpret and analyze the political aspects present in M.I.A.'s multicultural music, specifically those present in the album AIM (2016). Seeking this objective, we identify, understand and interpret the artist's concerns expressed throughout the record, exponentialized by migration and refugees topics; and, through bibliographic research, we promote discussions between relevant theorists in three different perspectives in International Relations Theory — feminist, post-colonial and constructivist — and other authors aligned with the topics in question. This work also approaches the object in its audiovisual analysis, where it studies it by the way in which it is presented to its audience: through the video hermeneutics method, four album productions — music videos — are approached and related to the theoretical contribution.
