Teorias do fantástico e uma análise do conto ‘‘O homem de areia’’ de Hoffmann

Abstract

The present work discusses the theory of fantastic literature, aiming to establish related aspects between the traditional theory of Todorov (2012) and the contemporary theory of Camarani (2014), in order to define the fantastic, taking as a starting point two centuries: the 18th , in which the presence of monsters and the supernatural is recurrent, and the XIX, in which the themes unfold into psychological issues. In addition, the research also aims to study the theory of the fantastic that will be shown through the analysis of the short story ‘‘O Homem de Areia’’ by Hoffmann (1817), aiming to verify how this genre is constructed in the narrative.
