Geopolítica energética: uma discussão sobre as empresas nessa conjuntura

Abstract

Energy has significant importance for humanity, to prove it is enough if you look at history and try to live for 24 hours without electricity. It is unimaginable to live without it, since it is already set to the use of electronic equipment in everyday life. Hence it is possible to gain an understanding of why energy geopolitics exists, which comes from the states' need to strategically secure the possession of reserves and their supply, generating disputes and conflicts. At this juncture there are actors, they are: states, international organizations and companies. Each one with its essentiality to the energetic scenario. That said, there is a more stricter discussion about the companies, represented by two of the hydrocarbon sector and that operate in the offshore part of English Guyana: The CGX Energy Inc and the Exxon Mobil. In this way, the objectives are twofold: to deal with energy geopolitics, energy and its actors and to identify the types of companies, their importance and how they fit in the context of a dispute.
