Percepções de agricultores sobre a importância do manejo e controle das moscas-das-frutas na Comunidade de Ponta Grossa, Distrito de São Joaquim do Pacuí-AP

Abstract

Brazil is among the world's largest fruit producers, developing one of the most important economic activities in the country, fruit growing. Thus, it is necessary that the Brazilian fruit grower aims at product quality, investing in good agricultural practices. In order to overcome some obstacles to Brazilian agriculture, there is a great concern that the conflicts presented should be resolved, as is the case with agricultural pests, especially fruit flies, which cause great threats to cultivation. of cultivated and native fruit. This study aims to evaluate farmers' perceptions about the importance of fruit fly management and control in the community of Ponta Grossa do Piririm / Pacuí-AP. The data collection was through semi-structured interview followed by an elaborated script, which were carried out in three main stages, the first interview with farmers, the training of farmers on the theme fruit flies and the last interview with the farmers. The results show that five respondents (20%) have already seen fruit flies and 20 respondents (80%) are unaware of these insects. Of the 34 fruit species cited by respondents 14 of them (41%) are host to the star fruit fly. The importance of awareness and guidance on the impacts of carambola fly in the state of Amapá should be based mainly on avoiding the damage that can cause fruits, thus the perception of farmers reveals that there is a need to increase knowledge about fruit flies, as they are unaware of the impact of these insects on fruit growing. However, there is a need for more work such as these, involving university extension actions aimed at educating farmers in the various communities of the state of Amapá, providing information that may contribute to the development of the agricultural sector
