Encantos da aldeia Santa Izabel: interfaces entre a educação indígena e a educação escolar indígena

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between diffuse education and formal education in Santa Izabel Village, inhabited by the Karipuna people and located in the Uaçá Indigenous Territory, in the municipality of Oiapoque, Amapá, Brazil. The research seeks to understand how traditional knowledge transmitted through orality, community life, and cultural practices interacts with Indigenous school education. This is a qualitative, bibliographic, and field study grounded in authors who discuss Indigenous education, memory, and cultural identity. The findings indicate that formal education and diffuse education coexist within the community, contributing to cultural preservation and the strengthening of Indigenous identity.
