Resumo
The Amazon Forest is home to an immeasurable wealth of fauna and flora. As for its flora, we
still know a little about the diversity of species it has today, however, its logging and use in
civil construction is gaining more and more prominence. and protagonism, despite the
unknown. This search work carried out a comparative analysis of the resistance of species
native to the northern region of sawn wood, through the application of ABNT NBR 7190-3
(2022), a simplified mechanical characterization test between the species will be carried out:
ACAPU - Vouacapoua americana Aubl.; ANGELIM-VERMELHO – Dinizia excelsa Ducke
and PRACUÚBA - Mora paraensis Ducke Caesalpiniaceae. The objective is to determine,
through a specification test parallel to the fibers, the apparent density and humidity to determine
the rupture tension of the species samples, estimate the characteristic resistance of the
specimens, the apparent density, humidity for a correction of 12%, define a resistance class and
compare these values, through the application of equations and statistical treatments defined by
the standard. Samples were collected at a lumber yard in the city of Macapá-AP, in AV. Canal
do Jandiá, the preparation of heavy parts, the normative methodology and the tests carried out
at the IFAP campus Macapá, Triaxial update laboratory, with the aid of an EMIC DL30000 N
for the specification test and an oven with a temperature of 103 °C ± 2 °C. After the tests, the
data were processed and calculated and the apparent density of the samples was defined with
values: 𝜌12 = 0,97 𝑔/𝑐𝑚³ for Acapu, 𝜌12 = 1,02 𝑔/𝑐𝑚³ for Angelim-vermelho, 𝜌12 =
1,04 𝑔/𝑐𝑚³ for Pracuúba with humidity found after oven drying of 𝑈% = 8,10%, 𝑈% =
10,14% e 𝑈% = 10,88%, respectively. Regarding the characteristic resistance parallel to the
fibers for the samples after humidity correction and application of the existing relationships
between the mechanical properties in the values: 𝑓𝑐0,𝑘 = 70,35 𝑀𝑃𝑎 for Acapu, 𝑓𝑐0,𝑘 =
62,53 𝑀𝑃𝑎 for Angelim-vermelho and 𝑓𝑐0,𝑘 = 53,42 𝑀𝑃𝑎 for Pracuúba, through the analyzes
carried out it was possible to classify the resistance class of wood species as D60 for Acapu and
Angelim- red and D50 for Pracuúba.
