O Brasil na agenda internacional da mudança climática

Abstract

The global climate is going through an accelerated change, with the need for action by the States, the international climate change agenda advances, which adds scientific knowledge to the political agenda, as it is a multisectoral issue. This work aims to present an overview of Brazil's behavior in the face of the recent international climate change agenda, internal and external highlights on the subject, and uncertainties regarding the future. Through the reading and analysis of books, articles, and documents related to climate change, international regimes, and the environmental agenda, I seek to demonstrate how Brazil in the international agenda of climate change integrates this discussion and adheres to the environmental agenda in accordance with the structure of international regimes. As internal results, at least in institutional terms, the National Policy on Climate Change (PNMC) was drawn up, in Law 12.187 (BRASIL, 2009), which defines Brazilian structures and guidelines for adapting and mitigating climate change, and in 2016 the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change is presented, which follows what is in the PNMC, documents directly influenced by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
