Panorama das Pontes Binacionais do Brasil: padrões e contexto histórico

Abstract

The goal of this work is to understand the evolution of Brazilian foreign policy towards South America, having as basis the guidelines established for the nine binational bridges of Brazil, with emphasis on the two most recent ones, namely Ponte sobre o Rio Tacutú, with the Republic of Guyana (2009) and Ponte sobre o Rio Oiapoque, with French Guiana (2017). Each one of these Binational Bridges is rooted in the peculiarities of frontier zones and responding to the demands of the context to which they are contemporary. The methodology used was the exploratory case study, with emphasis on the bibliographical research to understand the historical context, Brazilian foreign policy phases and the decisive theme in the formation agreements of the studied bridges. It is possible to conclude that the same historical context may represent multiple effects, but they are fundamental to create effective action strategies in the current international scenario
