Éden, Adão e Eva: o florescer da identidade narrativa no épico "Paraíso Perdido", de John Milton

Abstract

The goal of this study is to describe the process of identitarian construction of the characters Adam and Eve in the space of Eden in the work Paradise Lost, of the English poet John Milton, demonstrating the importance of intrigue to the construction of narrative identity. For this, it was adopted research of qualitative nature (Denzin e Lincoln, 2006) and of bibliographical research (Gil, 2016), followed up by analyses and interpretative descriptions about the text-object grounded by the theorical base selected. In this article, it was considered the guidelines postulates of Ramalho (2013, 2014), Gois (2016) e Sá (2010, 2014, 2016) for the characterization of the epic poem, the contributions of Ricoeur (1991, 1994) and Mora (2018), in what regards the tessitura of intrigue and its associations in the formation of the narrative identity, it was assumed the ricoeuriana perspective of this concept. The conclusion highlights that the formation of the identity of the characters are guided by the conduct cord of the intrigue operated by the actions, comprehended under space-time contexts, that reveal themselves the true roots of the constitution of the be that bloom in Adam and Eve in paradise.
