Abstract

This monograph aims to present the obstacles to the practice of state intelligence activity carried out by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency through the presentation of intelligence activity, its conceptualization, characterization and classification, as well as the explanation of the history of international relations, most important concepts and main theories, among which is highlighted neorealism, which is used to demonstrate the importance of intelligence activity as a topic of International Relations. Later, the historical evolution of the intelligence activity in Brazil is analyzed in order to deepen the understanding of the construction of State intelligence in Brazil and the historical context of the current panorama, to finally explain about the Brazilian Intelligence Agency - ABIN, organization that at the present time is responsible for the activity of State intelligence in Brazil, its creation, organization, function and finally the obstacles that it faces in the performance of its function, be they structural, social, cultural, political or financial
