Resumo

This paper has as the main idea emulating a wind turbine from a didactic stand. This stand is build with an induction motor type squirrel cage, which is going to emulate the proceeding of a real wind turbine rotor. This motor is going to be started with a frequency converter, which is connected to a microcontroller that has the function to convert the output signals from an anemometer into voltage signals, through an equation that depends on the insert characteristics by the stand user. The biggest difference of this project is that it uses wind data measured in real time. Through this stand, it will be possible to analyze the angular speed and relate it to the mechanic power values read in the motor output. A database is used with power values related to frequency, voltage and angular velocity. This way, it’s possible to prove the stand efficiency by analyzing the power curve obtained and the power curve of the wind turbine chosen by the user with the parameters insert in the equations necessary for the emulation. These parameters will be used to verify if the wind turbine’s dominant characteristics are similar to those found as a result of this emulation
