A abordagem comunicativa nas aulas de inglês no ensino médio no Brasil: realidade ou ficção?

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the teaching of English based on the Communicative Approach in High School for the development of communicative competence. To achieve the proposed objective the study unfolds in the following specific objectives: To understand the historical background of the different approaches of Foreign Language teaching that culminated in the Communicative Approach; To verify if the documents recommending the Teaching of Foreign Language present assumptions of the Communicative Approach in their texts; To discuss the possibility of using the assumptions of the Communicative Approach in High School in order to develop the Communicative Competence of students. The study was conducted through Documental and Bibliographic Research and glimpsed the theoretical enrichment of the literature concerning the linguistic aspect on this area of study.
