Resumo
The line of balance is a planning and control technique that aims to optimize project
execution, coordinating activities efficiently and ensuring compliance with established
deadlines. The study shows that the use of the LDB in civil construction offers several
benefits, such as improved monitoring of the physical progress of the work, reduced
waste, and increased predictability in the execution schedule. In addition, the
technique allows for more precise control of the allocation of resources, such as
materials and labor, and provides clearer communication between work teams,
facilitating the management of the project as a whole. The research also highlights the
importance of implementing the LDB in the integration of different stages of the
construction process, optimizing the flow of activities and allowing for quick
adjustments in the event of unforeseen events. Another relevant advantage is the
possibility of identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, enabling more assertive
decision-making to ensure the correct progress of the work. In summary, the
application of the physical advances of the LDB represents an effective strategy for
managing works, contributing to improving quality and meeting established deadlines,
and is essential for the evolution of project management in civil construction. These
advances made it possible to monitor the planned and actual stages of the foundation
stage of a multi-story tower, with its complications and the measures taken to ensure
execution within the proposed deadline.
