Pombinha é uma personagem em duas facetas?: um questionamento pelo viés da análise do discurso francesa

Abstract

This work aims to show, through the discursive materiality present in the book The Cortiço, by Aluísio Azevedo (1980), the way two personalities are constituted by the conditions of production through the same character: Pombinha. The theoretical-methodological basis comes from the studies of the French Discourse Analysis (PÊCHEUX, 1997; ORLANDI, 2005) and the studies of the Bakhtin (2011) and Foucault (2014) language philosophers. Besides this base, we also discuss the concept of Stereotype and Ethos (BEZERRA, 2008; CARDOSO, 2016; CIRILO, 2011; RIBEIRO, 2012). The analysis showed that Aluísio Azevedo, in making his own lexical choices, defines and determines the two main facets of the main character of his book and that the choices he makes are not random but full of meaning for the argumentative direction of his work.
