Resumo
Choosing a type of foundation that adds safety, availability, suitability and economy is not always an easy task for those who sail within the limits of any of these factors.. The dimensioning of piles, their depth and number per block is a critical point that is time consuming and can lead to excessive resource consumption. We propose a methodology with the aid of excel spreadsheets and load frequency statistics that leads to the optimized dimensioning to the limit of the possible. we compare two problem situations with two different foundations: Augercast pile and drilled pile. The study was developed with practical selection procedures considering the Decourt & Quaresma method for calculating the permissible bearing. With the aid of prepared Excel spreadsheets, they, through the data entered, calculated the optimization of the geometry of the foundation structures considering technical and economy parameters. Using the proposed procedures, the results indicated considerable savings as they pointed to a minimum effective and applicable pre-dimensioning and amenable to applicability, giving the civil engineer initial parameters for fine design dimensioning, being that it should interfere occasionally with any specific load requirements. In this sense, the proposal proved to be useful and effective for pre-dimensioning.
