A representatividade negra feminina no Itamaraty: uma reflexão sobre desigualdade racial e de gênero na diplomacia brasileira

Abstract

The present work aims to carry out a debate on the representation of black women in Itamaraty from the history of diplomacy and the analysis of data regarding the insertion of women in positions of power, and after the expansion of the policy of quotas. It is noticeable the importance of debating about gender, race and class in the academic sphere, substantially, the practice of this system of oppression that focuses on the exclusion of fundamental rights of women of color, which have been imposed since the colonial period. Thus, it is proposed to present reflections on how the image of the diplomat and the consequences of racial and gender inequality impacted on the underrepresentation of black women in Brazilian diplomacy through exposition, data analysis and bibliographic review.
