Resumo

The objective of this work was to analyze the physical and mechanical behavior of the soil, located in Residencial Irmãos Platon, in Macapá, by adding the chemical additive Oxnix for functional use as a base of pavement. Performed through tests in compliance with the current Standard, and following the guidelines of the manufacturer of the product. The soil classification and the necessary dosage, was studied, joining the necessary characteristics and techniques for the soil in natura and for the additived. After several tests, such as granulometry, proctor, expansion, penetration and CBR (California Bearing Ratio), the soil was classified as a clay silt with less than 5% clay, which did not result in a good stabilization with the chemical additive, which requires a minimum of 30% of it for stabilization to be adequate, so the ISC graph pointed a larger curve (with more resistance) to the natural soil and a lower result of the soil added, concluding that the chemical stabilization with the Oxnix product had no effect on the studied soil.
