Resumo

The present work aims to show the temporal and spatial evolution of dengue cases in the south of Macapá-AP and to identify the risk areas of this disease. Based on this, point out the possible environmental and human factors related to dengue cases that contribute to the occurrence of the virus in this region. For this research, the following methodological procedures were carried out: 1) the collection of notified and confirmed data on Dengue organized by the Municipal Health Department of the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and the monthly and annual precipitation data Instituto Nacional Meteorológico, 2) the bibliographic review on dengue cases in the municipality of Macapá and in the state of Amapá, 3) the tabulation of these data in the Geographic Information System and the spatialization of dengue data in neighborhoods in the southern area of Macapá, 4) statistical analysis of rainfall data and dengue cases. Thus, areas with a higher incidence of cases and areas with a lower number of cases were identified. The areas with the highest occurrence of cases were the regions close to the flooded areas in the southern part of Macapá. These areas are characterized by being peripheral regions that have residences on stilts, with precarious condition of basic sanitation. In the analysis of the relationship between rainfall and dengue notifications, large numbers of records were noted both in rainy and dry periods, in some years the peaks are shown mainly in dry months. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that dengue cases are not caused only by the large amount of precipitation, but also by local natural factors such as the wetlands of the municipality of Macapá
