Resumo
Technological advancements of recent decades have made the use of software in civil engineering increasingly common and accepted, to the point where it is now rare to find an engineer who does not use these tools. Another type of technology that has evolved rapidly is geosynthetics. These materials are now indispensable in major modern engineering projects, offering efficiency and sustainability to an area in great need of both. This study used the software Geosoft PAVCO v4 to design and compare different sub-drainage systems with geosynthetics for a specific road, assessing the software's applicability in the state of Amapá. The research reviews literature on urban drainage and geosynthetics, highlighting their efficiency, durability, and positive environmental impact. After designing the simulations using the software, budgets indicated that implementing a road drainage geocomposite could result in savings of up to 30.9% compared to the French drain. Thus, using Geosoft PAVCO v4 for such projects, combined with the implementation of appropriate design adaptations, becomes a beneficial solution for companies and engineers who require a free tool for road drainage design.
