Resumo

A retaining structure is subject to several aggressive factors: human deterioration, environment actions where it is retained, materials actions and their interaction. The knowledge of these factors is mandatory for the elaboration of implementation studies, projects, monitoring and maintenance of such structures. When conception and execution are performed with quality, and nevertheless the structure presents pathological problems, the failures may be caused by improper use of the structure or inefficiency of the maintenance program. It is the field of Pathology of Structures, identifying pathological causes, indicating the adoption of emergency measures - when there are risks to people, the environment and the structure itself - to diagnose which techniques will be employed to eliminate or minimize anomalies and recommend the possibility of rehabilitation, reinforcement or demolition of the structure. This paper studies the retaining wall built on the waterfront of the Perpétuo Socorro neighborhood in the city of Macapá, which has had anomalies since 2012, and in 2019, is in a state of collapse. Given the complexity of the existing pathologies in the wall, a preliminary inspection was performed to investigate the nonconformities and pathological factors, which corroborated the partial ruin of the retaining structure. A checklist was used based on the literature of dams inspection and reinforced concrete structures, measuring the degree of risk and intensity of anomalies using the GUT method. The results of the prioritization demonstrate that the risk control measures are urgent and necessary. The maximum score (GUT = 1000) indicates that the priorities of the actions are: access restriction of people to the risk area and stabilization of the displacements to avoid the expansion of dangerous areas.
